4th Radio frequency ablation

Had my RFA treatment this evening, everything went well, but it is painful!
I am hoping it will settle down after doing acupuncture, because I don’t know
how much more radiation I can take, the live fluoroscope is cooking me.

The pain doctor is real good at it, but I am always concerned about the wrong nerve getting fried!

I told him about my Rheumy telling me I had fecal matter in my upper SIJ, he had a good laugh…

I so hope it does what’s needed for you. Sounds like you truly do need to rest up a while though.

So my furry friend was standing on my chest at 5:00 AM wanting to go out! So much for sleeping in. I did lock him out, and get back to sleep…
SIJ feel pretty good, hope it lasts a while! It takes a few days to kill off the nerves, but I am still going on the local they shoot up.

You can actually train cats Jon. By being more persistent with the word ‘no’ and variations of it. The trick is to aim to be more persistent than them but that’s quite a challenge, though. And as they get older - even more of a challenge. However I did train both mine to come in at night, via starvation tactics as in they got no food at all until they came in and then they could eat like kings. It worked as after about the age of 4 or 5 they came in every evening when called. And the remaining one still does aged 16.

So after your early morning adventures with your furry friend, I hope you’re still feeling pretty good and still resting up.

The old saying you can’t teach a old dog new tricks is even worse with old cats! This a hard boiled old cat, where the previous owner allowed such activity, so it will be more of a challenge.
Doing pretty good at the moment!

Fabulous to hear you’re doing good. Long may it last. As for the cat he can still learn you know… best ensure it’s him learning and not just you

I am usually the doormat in life experences…

That had me laughing actually. Here’s this guy who ‘returned’ to this site with the most phenomenal searching questions I’ve ever seen or read. And he backed that up with the most ‘terrifying’ photos of x-ray scans, CT scans and MRI scans I thought was possible, including the possible ‘poo’ oriented ones. And he repairs flutes, loves and creates pottery and has suddenly adopted a cat. And just undergone some hand surgery and this radio frequency ablation (for abalation - think destroying) and he thinks he’s a ‘doormat’??? Beggars belief. Train that cat Mr Sparky for pity’s sake… And please continue to rest up. I’m so glad your sense of humour with all these things remains, especially given the cat issue. The cat issue always seems the most challenging in my experience anyhow!

Good point! But I didn’t mean life in general making me a doormat, I am a empath, so I tend get taken advantage of…

That made me laugh as well. You’ve been through so much. I love cats and dogs, but insist that my cats are always indoors…too big a mortality rate for outdoor cats. It took awhile for my current rescue cat to adapt, but she did eventually. She also loves to lay on top of me, especially in the morning. I’ve found that a spray bottle filled with water works wonders!

Well he has only been in for a couple of days, so I don’t want to upset the apple cart to soon. You see, he was made at me for kicking him out of his old place, that became my workshop, so it has taken a 3 years just to get close to him. He is an outdoor type cat, being farell for about 9 years, we are on a big farm so he knows the ropes… You have to be pretty cagey to stay alive outdoors for that long…

It seems it’s the norm in the USA for cats (other than Jon’s) to be indoor cats, I’m in the UK so just demand mine are indoors at night since that’s when most of them get killed on the roads.

Much important than cats - how are doing Jon? Has this procedure worked for you?

Yes! After two days I was able to drive for 2 1/2 hours without pain. The follow ups with this procedure are not as bad, because they are trimming the newly grown nerves.
I am even going on a outing with a couple of friends to the Peterson Car museum, Hope I can stay on my feet for that long…
Have a nice weekend!
