A quick rant at myself ! I was doing pretty well until I tried to be superwomen ( which is easy to do on prednisone ) and create all of the decorations for my son's rehearsal dinner, set up the decorations, bake 50 mini key lime cheesecakes, help my husband prepare and serve up a Mexican food feast for 30 people, clean up and tear down the whole shebang and do all of this in 89 degree weather.
It was fun but I was half dead by the time we got home at 10:30. Oh, and it was my birthday, so of course I had to have a Rum and Coke....
The next day was the wedding. All I had to do was show up, but the wedding was out in the middle of a field and I had to ride a crazy four wheeler, all dressed up, to get out there. It was wild. And bumpy. And then I had to ride it back to the barn for the reception.
Before all of this I had weaned down from 10mg of pred to 7.5 and was managing until today when I completely crashed but have yet to burn....it wouldn't take much. The fatigue is incredible. I don't know how I am typing, but I got really bored watching TV.
I am so pleased with how the festivities went and would do anything for my son, but I have never been so exhausted in my life, except maybe after giving birth. Why didn't I pace myself ? Now I am a hot mess and I think I will need to go back to 10 mg pred just to function.
I just sent my first appeal to my insurance company for Simponi Aria, off label. I have not had any biologics for 2 months,
Do we have a humor forum, 'cause I could use some cheering up !
Oh Mimi, you make me smile. It sounds like you had a WONDERFUL time! OK, so you’re knackered. I think you need a snort of rum and to go to bed. Stay there and play princess for a few days. Then get the pictures out and revel in the memories.
Mimi, sounds like a great but truly exhausting time!
Be a bit selfish for the next few days - and remember - the pred taper can be a long hard road when you’ve been on it for a while - if you need to bump back up for a day, that might be necessary, just keep your eye on the end goal !
Thanks, you all. I am on day three of "Playing princess"...I think I need another couple of days to recover. My pain is much better but I feel like I could sleep for days. It is so hot and humid here, which doesn't help. My nice, cool bedroom is the place to be.
Its very important to watch ice at these events. Ice mixed with Coke can do bad things to good rum. I've got some good 4 wheeler and alcohol storires too, but yours is a winner. Glad you are feeling better. I guess the moral is you need to let your hair down and party hearty more often before you lose your touch.............
This will be a family legend. Glad you are feeling better.
