So sick - 4th week on methotrexate

I have been told by my Rheumy to not take any ibuprofen products while on the methotrexate due to the ill effects on the liver (as the mtx is already rough on the liver). I take Tylenol only and have prescription medicine for migraines if needed. I always error on the side of caution though and call my Rheumy's office if I have questions about meds, they are really good about answering my questions.

So Advil won't make me more queasy? Also, it's ok to take with mtx? I guess I was concerned about liver issues as well as not upsetting stomach more. But I need relief from the headache. Awful. Drinking water now.

Does anyone get a bad pain in the chest area? I had it a couple of days ago and it subsided, so I thought it was indigestion. However, it came back yesterday. I have read my leaflet on side effects of methotrexate and chest pain can be serious. Should I seek advice? I take my fourth dose of methotrexate tomorrow. Any advice would be welcome please!

Newgran - I didn't get the chest pain (sounds like heartburn maybe??), but I'd call and leave message and the nurse should call you back to advise you.

I saw the new rheumy yesterday and she was amazing - night and day from my first guy. I'll update later-- heading to work!

What Claire said, Newgran. Chest pain always always needs to be investigated. I doubt whether it's anything to do with the MTX. I'd be inclined to go a doctor or a clinic asap. Calling your GP before the weekend would be an excellent idea. Here is an interesting recent thread. It's long, and gets exciting at the end. A cautionary tale worth reading, I think.
