One step forward, two steps back

I use the term flare for a temporary worsening of symptoms that wax and wane. But as I am poorly controled I find I have repeated flares and then realize I have a new "normal" as the disease has progressed as more joints are involved and some are much worse.

Lucia - This has been my recent experience too! I have been taking MTX on Friday night and feeling awful all day on Saturday. My dr had me up my MTX and take half Friday night and half 12 hours later (Saturday morning). This week the MTX hangover seems to be really stretched out. I have had tummy troubles and nausea all week. Yuck. And I am having a huge P flare. My scalp is a terrible mess.

This is me almost exactly except I take it on Fridays because of working during the week! Sometimes I dread taking it because I am afraid of what awaits me. I am noticing that not every weekend is the same. One weekend I actually wasn't wiped out! But the next weekend I was exhausted again and felt like I had the flu. Is this how you feel?

Hey guys--me three! I just gave myself my shot but before hand I was sitting in the kitchen in a tank-top and jeans sweating and feeling all angsty. I was so ready for that medicine--kind of like needing a "fix". I, too, have that day after wiped-out-ness and some weekends are better than others. Switching to the shots REALLY helped me get rid of the week-long "hangover" feeling. And there's NO nausea with the shot, either. I'm a pretty big wuss and even I can handle the tiny insulin needle.

Sorry for our collective situation but glad to know I'm not alone!

Me too! Wicked chills sometimes than hot flashes and sweats. My own little climate change!
