Newly diagnosed but not sure I have the right diagnosis - Please help

Myofascial release is the method my physical therapists used, and it works if they know how to do it. One female therapist basically layed her hands on me in different places for 45 minutes, the male p.t. was way too rough--he wasn't using myofascial, I don't think. I actually asked him to lay off my neck cuz I thought he'd break it! He's the guy who did some weird manipulation last August on my sore back that caused immediate horrible pain and put me out of commission for awhile! From then on, I didn't have any appointments with him. There was one woman who did the myofascial release so perfectly I could always feel improvement when she worked in my back. It's really hard trying to get a phys. therapist who's just right. Thankfully, I haven't had to get any p.t. for several months now.

Thanks both, until I get to see a Rheumy again I think I’m a bit stuck on trying to get prescribed anything. Ibroprofen doesn’t really do anything for me but sometimes paracetamol with codeine in them helps, they just make me feel a bit spaced out Lol!

Yesterday, through the night was really bad and same this morning. Left ribs and under breast, armpit shoulder, neck all burning. Left Knee, bum, shin, under foot all aching, left elbow wrist and hand all aching. Just a bad time though, hopefully it will ease off soon. I know keeping positive might help.

I see a specialist myofascial release therapist every week aswell now. The pt I went to that just manipulated my spine and neck just hurt too much. I’ve only seen the woman twice but she’s much gentler and it seems to help me a bit so I’ll keep that up.

Thanks all, I hope you’re all feeling good with limited or no symptoms today  xx

I have had huge issues with rib and chest pain for over a year. I can say that indomethacin (indoncin) which is a NCAID has helped tremendously. My understanding is it is not addictive and can not be taken with other ones like ibuprofen etc. Might be one to ask your rheumy about mine prescribed it for me. Been a lifesaver for this specific pain.

Any chance of a gentle swim followed by sleep / good film / leisurely meal out? Personally I wouldn't worry too much about positivity, I'd just want to make sure my bod didn't seize up and then that I had the nicest day possible in the circumstances.

(I took my own advice yesterday - but damn, 'things to do' have now piled up!)

Haha I know what you mean Sybil, I was supposed to clean the house yesterday and that did not happen. I’ve done some stretching this morning and we’re gonna go for a walk. Snuggle up with the cats and watch a film this afternoon. Get some nice healthy food in for tea too and just see how today goes  xx

Hello chelle! Your story sounds a lot like mine. It took a very long time for me to make the connection between my psoriasis I had as a kid to the joint/tendon inflammation I developed 10 years after. For me I think it took longer to diagnose because my symptoms weren’t always consistent. My blood tests showed no evidence to diagnose me and I ultimately made a diagnosis on my own. Now it is very apparent it is the right diagnosis. With early treatment and careful management of diet You can slow the progression down. I wish you the best of luck. I know what it means to my have anyone believe that there is something else wrong than what Te doctors may find. But you aren’t alone.
