HI! My name is John and I was diagnosed with PA yesterday. Still in shock to be honest and very down yesterday. But feeling better today. Sybil messaged me (we live near each other), and she has really cheered me up. :)
Anyway, glad to be here and hope to start posting regularly.
Hi, John, and welcome! Yes, being landed with a diagnosis like this is a shocker. We know the feeling! But the truth is, many of us live very wll despite having this disease. Had we been diagnosed a generation ago, things would not have seemed so bright. And the new therapies that are coming out, more and more each year, are big advancements.
I hope that you find this a good place for support and information. Did Sybil point you to our Newbies’ Guide? On page three is an article called “Getting the T-shirt”, which you may relate to.
Do post, ask lots of questions, and let us know if there’s anything that we can do to help.
Hi there! I hear you've had a couple of steroid injections. I had them too, at the same hospital, when diagnosed and they allowed me to have a much needed weekend away in Liverpool after months of doing so little. It was still a struggle at first, then the shots kicked in ... not miraculous, but still quite a reprieve. It can take a few days for them to deliver. So glad you've posted.
Thank you both. :) I have read the "T-shirt" post. Very informative and useful. No more treatments at the moment, my Consultant wants to see me in three months and take it from there.
Hey there and welcome from cold and freezing Australia. This cold winter is really kicking my butt, but spring is just around the corner and I can't wait.
Glad to see you on board and know you have come to the right place for great support.
