Hi Ktel,
I’ve taken Naproxen but with omneprazole for nearly two years now and I certainly know if I forget. I would never take it without the omneprazole though given the gastric issues and indeed frankly I wouldn’t take ibuprofen without it either. I think I said that already above! And don’t forget I’m in the UK too. For me Naproxen added a comfort issue. It doesn’t take all pain away but I feel more comfortable on it. And given sulfasalazine ‘works’ for me, it continues to add that comfort level which ceases if I don’t take it.
For me this disease started in one foot and then both hands one worse than the other. Swiftly moving on to one hip. Now the hip is far less painful, the hands can still swell a little and are always stiff by the evening for some reason and the foot occasionally grumbles. Pain is far far less severe and capacity is much much improved. That appears to be a good result on a DMARD. I have the beginning of damage in my toes of that foot and my hip. And I’m guessing now my hands. My appointment in March will probably show that.
And for me this disease moves around sometimes. I had hellish costochrondritis last year which lasted a couple of months but which just isn’t there anymore.
Best of luck on Thursday.
