Hi, just to stick my oar in, the drug advice leaflet that came with my MTX 2.5mg oral tablets from Mercury Pharmaceutical Ltd. Does indicate the possibility of a increase in blood sugars under rare side effects of the Endocrine disorders. I did question my Rheumatologist about this but he said he was unaware of any connection between MTX and Diabetes mellitus. The drug advice also indicated breast enlargement!! But I’ve since found out this is also rare and more likely in men.
Mainly, I’d like to point out that it is in the drug companies interest to state as many potential side effects as possible to cover all the bases against getting sued!
Thank you, Louise... No sign of breast enlargement in my case though... (dammit!!)
Cheers

My doctor didn't either, Until I told her about my father's heart specialist telling HIM that his Congestive Heart Failure (CCF) was due,in part, to his having had a long history of raised fasting BGLs- not enough for a diabetes diagnosis or treatment though... so I brought it up as a way of NOT ending up with heart failure... no mention of it having a connection with Metabolic Syndrome or Psoriasis.... Franklly, I've learned more from this group than from either my GP or my dermatologist!
Thank you all again for your advice and knowledge

The sad thing is that none of my doctors monitor for Diabetes. I have to ask them to monitor for it by requesting a test. Seems silly to me that they don't care about it. I'm not sure what the big deal is with testing every other year is, but they argue every time.
