ArthritisPower Webinar: Think You Know Your Arthritis Drugs?

A Fascinating Look at How They Actually Work in Your Body

Thursday, March 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. United States, EDT

As a member of the CreakyJoints patient community, we would like to invite you to a free informational webinar on Thursday, March 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. EDT .

The “Think You Know Your Arthritis Drugs?” webinar will be presented by Daniel Hernandez, MD, Medical Advocacy Liaison for the Global Healthy Living Foundation (GHLF). Dr. Hernandez graduated medical school from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and is now based in New York City, where he leads medical education and Hispanic outreach across all disease states for GHLF.

As the first-line treatment for many forms of inflammatory arthritis and related diseases, medications called disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are a common part of patients’ treatment journey.

These drugs don’t just help with the pain and swelling that results from inflammation; they can also slow down the progression of joint damage in diseases like RA and sometimes even stop it from progressing altogether. But how exactly do these drugs work in our body? How do they suppress the overactive inflammatory response? How do they actually change the course of the disease?

It’s important that patients understand these answers so they can be more informed and involved in their treatment plans.

During this webinar, Dr. Hernandez will discuss how DMARDs work and why they have revolutionized the way we treat diseases like RA today.
