This is from last year, but I thought I'd post it anyway. I think I'm going to pick up her book from the library : “In the Kingdom of the Sick: A Social History of Chronic Illness in America” by Laurie Edwards

I wanted to add that Laurie Edwards also wrote a great book called: Life Disrupted: Getting Real About Chronic Illness in Your Twenties and Thirties. The book I mention above is her newest book.
