After speaking with a friend who has AS and PsA, he told me his Rheumy just put him on anti-anxiety meds to help with swelling. I hadn't heard of this and was curious if anyone else has tried this approach. He said he takes Xanax three times daily and a dose of Klonopin(sp?) at night. He swears it brought down the swelling in his hands tremendously. I also know someone who takes Xanax for Essential Tremor, so maybe they're onto something here.
I would love to one day have my old hands back instead of these bear paws I currently call my hands. A girls gotta dream!! :)
