I take magnesium as a natural muscle relaxant. A side effect is loose stools. It is pretty quick acting and something you could use in place of the medication you are now taking. It is easy to tweak the dosage. I take it with vitamin D3. It helps to absorb the D. Also the levels of some of these nutrients that are 'normal' are not necessarily 'optimal'. A nutritionist could help with sorting all of that out.
